Yoanita Dharmawan comes from Indonesia. She was born to a Javanese mother, a Balinese father, and both are Chinese descendants. Yoanita started learning piano at the age of 14 and gave her first public performance at the age of 15. She studied piano with Tjie Ju Sin Yuliana and JMC Aditya Indradjaja in Bali. She performed in the ABRSM High Scorers’ Concert twice in 2014 and 2016 for grades 5 and 7. Furthermore, she attended several masterclasses with Iswargia Sudarno, Toru Oyama, and Mario Santoso.
At the London College of Music (LCM), she is studying piano with Jeremy Davis, studied Harmony and Orchestration with Simon Rigby, and Music History with Peter Rudnick. During her study, she has always been active, engaging with many events at the LCM. She performed with LCM Camerata, performed on LCM Open Day, lunchtime concerts, and in the Pillars Restaurant, Ealing. She had several masterclasses while in the LCM with Masayuki Tayama, Emilie Capulet, Nataša Šarčević, and Lindsay Garritson. Not only that, she has won a Mona Blackman Classical Piano Competition in 2019 and 2021. In the 2019, Yoanita also performed in Associazione Mozart Italia Sede di Terni. She is keen to work as a soloist, accompanist, piano teacher and in piano duet or in chamber music. She loves to explore new things, explore new opportunities, and engage with people.
Yoanita has just graduated from her BMus (Hons) Music Performance with Foundation Year in LCM at 2021. In the same year, she gained Licentiate of the London College of Music in Performance. She is currently doing her Master degree in Music Performance at LCM. Her plan after graduation is to continue to collaborate with other musicians, gain more experience and share the knowledge through teaching.
